From our meadows to your bed

LE CHARDON was started by three French-Polish cousins who all share the same innate love and respect of nature.
We created LE CHARDON in 2015 after being introduced to this treasure of the Incas and as a reaction to the cruelty of the feather/down industry which is used in much stuffing. Our ambition was to create a quilt which is entirely natural and respectful of the animals and their welfare.Today, our alpaca farm and factory are located in Lower Silesia, as the cold Poloish winters provide an ideal environment for Alpacas.Shorn in our meadows, the precious wool is carefully washed and carded in our workshops before it is stuffed into its cotton case. The manufacturing process is entirely in-house, which in turn assures our customers of a high-quality and all natural product.

Le Chardon (C.)Cardunculus Our company is named after the French word for thistle (C. Cardunculus) which is a small thorny flower, native to the Mediterranean region. It belongs to the family of the Asteraceae and has, since Antiquity, been attributed with many medicinal powers. The Romans were the first people to use thistles in their textiles, as a dye, a process which lasted until the eighteenth century.
